The Crown and Queen Celebration

In 2022, Britain celebrates the Queen’s platinum jubilee. We also get to indulge in the fifth series of the Netflix smash-hit The Crown. This tour of Royal England celebrates both.

Day 1 - A Royal Reception

Upon arriving at the airport, you’ll be greeted by your tour manager, who will introduce you to London. Your panoramic tour of this historic capital will include many sights with royal connections, as well as exploring how these were used in The Crown.

Day 2 - Weddings, Funerals, and Parties

Today is a deep dive into the life of the Royal Family. Begin at Buckingham Palace, where you’ll enjoy admission to the Queen’s Gallery, home of the royal collection. Explore Westminster Abbey, the setting of royal weddings, coronations and funerals. For refreshment, take a traditional afternoon tea, before heading out on the town this evening. Your guide can help you discover the party-loving Princess Margaret’s old haunts and favourite jazz clubs.

Day 3
Along the Thames

Start the day at the Tower of London. Sat on the banks of the Thames, it has been a symbol of royal power since 1066. From here, board a boat and enjoy a sightseeing cruise downriver to Greenwich. Disembark here for a guided tour of the Old Royal Naval College, whose illustrious courtyards doubled as The Crown’s Buckingham Palace Courtyard.

Day 4 - A Seat in the Country

Country estates are a big part of Royal life, and today you’ll experience that sense of a rural getaway. Tour Hatfield House, the home of Henry VIII’s children. Get into the country spirit by indulging in the gentry’s favourite pursuit – clay pigeon shooting. Back in London, spend the evening at a West-End show.

Day 5 - London at Leisure

London is yours to explore today. Your tour manager will be on-hand with advice and recommendations. Hidden gems or must-see museums? Chilled-out cafés or bustling restaurants? Luxurious department stores or bijou boutiques? The choice is yours.

Day 6 & 7 - Cambridge Life

Transfer to Cambridgeshire for the tour’s grand finale. The magnificent Ely Cathedral stood in as The Crown’s Westminster Abbey. A local guide will show you the city of Cambridge, and its legendary university’s key locales. You’ll experience the lighter side of university life, with traditional punting on the River Cam. To top off the tour, a farewell dinner, before leaving for the airport the next day.
